CIEDix hosted a follow-up and review meeting on the Peneira pilot study, a free online tool developed by the Galician Supercomputing Centre (CESGA).
Peneira makes it easy to collect field data and subsequently download it for analysis, promoting the development of school research and citizen science projects across a wide range of fields.
The meeting was attended by teachers from the schools participating in this phase of the pilot study: IES Eduardo Pondal (Ponteceso), CPI Poeta Uxío Novoneyra (Folgoso do Courel), IES Agra de Leborís (A Laracha), IES de Soutomaior, IES Pedra da Aguia (Camariñas), IES A Basella (Vilanova de Arousa) and IES Moncho Valcarce (As Pontes de García Rodríguez).
During the meeting, the schools shared their experiences over the course of the academic year, including their assessments of the tool, its educational potential, the difficulties encountered and proposals for improvement ahead of the continuation of the pilot study next academic year. They also presented projects carried out in fields such as the environment, life sciences, heritage, sensor technology and astronomy.
The pilot project will continue next academic year, with the addition of new features and the validation of sensor integration in real teaching environments.
Through this initiative, CIEDix continues to promote educational innovation projects aimed at integrating open, sustainable digital solutions with strong educational potential into Galician classrooms.
