The Regional Government of Galicia showcased its flagship digital education model at the International Exhibition for Educational Technology and Innovation (SIMO), held in Madrid. The Centre for Educational and Digital Innovation (CIEDix) has successfully concluded its first teacher training residencies, during which educators Eva Castro and Francisco Ávila developed an innovative open-access educational resource titled "A Guided Tour of Our Heritage." The Faculty of Education and Social Work in Ourense, part of the Universidade de Vigo, hosted a workshop aimed at students from the Primary Education degree. During the workshop, the Ágora Dixital project was introduced—a CIEDix initiative designed to bring new technologies, pedagogical approaches, and digital skills to the educational sphere.
The Galician Minister of Education, Science, Universities, and Vocational Training, Román Rodríguez, took part today in the launch of Digital Agora, a new platform designed to help teachers develop innovative methodologies for the classroom. This initiative arises from the need to have a public space where ideas, strategies, and activities can be shared and used in class, especially in relation to STEM and technological skills, which currently face constant updates and new challenges.
The Centre for Educational and Digital Innovation (CIEDix) will take on the coordination of a pioneering working group aimed at defining the new educational paradigm in the era of AI. This team will be made up primarily of professionals from the technological and educational sectors, with the goal of developing initiatives and strategies to effectively integrate intelligent digital technologies into the non-university education system.
